Nursery Production Assistant
Location: Upper Broughton
Job Responsibilities
Reports to: Facilities Manager, Nursery Manager
- To report to Manager each day for duties other than set out below
- Planting, Potting, Stock clearance, weeding, bed clearance
- Organise plant stock locations
- To label plants with prices
- To comply with general nursery duties as requested
- To communicate with clients and members of public with a professional approach
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are compiled to on the nursery site
- To complete daily works to required high standards in a safe and consistent manner
- Ensure irrigation systems have been turned on and check what requires watering
- To unload deliveries of plants into nursery and stand down once organised into location
- To ensure plants are well watered and tendered to
- To weed plant pots and beds
- To clean down beds
- To make up planters and hanging baskets using nursery stock
- Problem solve as necessary
- To be professional at all times towards clients, staff and colleagues
Job Requirement
Essential points:
- Flexible attitude
- Machine driving experience
- Forklift driving experience
- Use and maintenance of Irrigation systems in a commercial environment
- Plant & tree knowledge
- Experience in working “hands on” in a nursery
- Physically fit
- Team player
- Full UK driving license
Desirable points:
- A qualification in horticulture an advantage
- First aid training
- PA1 & PA6 spraying license
Further Information
Hours of work 8am-4pm Monday to Friday (Nov-February seasonal 9am-3pm to the company’s discretion)
Overtime may be requiring within busy periods.
Rate of pay negotiable to the right candidate, starting
Good rate of pay plus bonus schemes
Interviews will take place March 2021. Start date mid-end March 2021.
You will be required to start and finish work, at our own site, so ideally located within 30mins drive away.
