Job Responsibilities

Nursery Supervisor

Carrier Landscapes Ltd require a Nursery Supervisor, responsible for supervising team members in duties and performance and monitoring work processes. They are expected to lead the team to meet the organisations expectations for productivity, profitability, quality and continuous improvement. Responsible for fulfilling potting requirements and schedule on both Sulney and Railway Nursery.

The company has been established for over 30 years, based in the East Midlands and has an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and service.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Organise the work schedule for operatives (approx. 6) on daily basis.
  • Ensure daily works are complete by the Nursery Operatives to required high standards in a safe and consistent manner.
  • Encourage and motivate staff to fulfil their daily duties.
  • To comply with general nursery duties when required. Which include:
    • To check the nursery first thing in the morning when arriving, stand plants up that may have fallen.
    • To unload deliveries of plants into the nursery and stand down once organised into instructed location.
    • To ensure plants are well watered and tendered to.
    • To weed plant pots and beds.
  • To report and advise of staff problems to managers.
  • To assist customers and drive sales of plants from the nursery.
  • To ensure Health and Safety is meet around the Nursey for Customers and employees.

Job Requirement

Essential points:

  • Flexible attitude
  • Machine driving experience
  • Use and maintenance of Irrigation systems in a commercial environment
  • Plant & tree knowledge
  • Experience in working “hands on” in a nursery
  • Physically fit
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable points:

  • A qualification in horticulture an advantage
  • First aid training
  • PA1 & PA6 spraying license

Further Information

The position will be based on £12.50 an hour plus bonus’, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. Some Saturdays will be required.

An immediate start is required. Interviews will take place early June 2021.
